Who we are.
Nexus Agriscience, Inc. is an agricultural technology company in Livermore, California. We develop industrial hemp genetics, the technologies that turn the crop into finished ingredients, and the ecosystem of growers, processors, and customers that brings those ingredients to market.
Our goal is natural ingredients at the price of the petroleum-based synthetics they replace.
Where we started.
We started in 2019 as Terpene Belt Farms, with an essential oil from industrial hemp that gave cannabis vape products the taste and smell of a real cannabis strain. The cannabis industry became our first market.
In 2025 we expanded our scope and began operating as Nexus Agriscience. We then acquired the hemp division of Biotech Institute, our long-time genetics partner, and brought its patents, plant genetics, and research expertise into Nexus.
What we develop.
Genetics. Our genetic library comes from the breeding work of Dr. Mark Lewis, our VP of Genetic Development and Lead Inventor. We breed industrial hemp varieties for the compounds each market needs. Our analytical lab in Livermore chemotypes our plants and steers the breeding program.
Technologies. We develop the processes that turn the plant into a finished ingredient: distillation within hours of harvest and purification that separates single compounds.
Quality. Every product we sell is tested by an independent ISO/IEC 17025-accredited lab registered with the DEA to handle industrial hemp. Our own lab checks each batch against the specifications our customers set.
Ecosystem. We work with growers and processors so our genetics can be planted and processed wherever farming exists, and we supply the finished ingredient to brands and manufacturers.
Our brands.
Two Nexus brands sell our essential oil to the cannabis industry. Terpene Belt Farms makes single-strain essential oils, pure and without additives, for premium brands and flavor distributors. Duty Free Terpenes blends Nexus essential oil with natural terpenes from other plants and sells it ready to fill to mid-market and value vape brands.
Our markets.
We sell into cannabis vape today. Beverage is next, with varieties bred for the flavors drink makers want. The same crop can supply natural molecules to flavor houses, perfumers, and formulators, and those markets follow.
